The Santiaoshi Historical Museum is located at No. 5 Museum Street, Hongqiao District. The former site of the Fujuxing Machinery Factory is the only surviving historical site in China that reflects the development and evolution of China's modern machinery industry. Founded in 1926, Fujuxing Machinery primarily produced agricultural implements and waterwheels. Its architectural layout, comprised of a front and rear storage area, a forging shed, and a machining workshop, is a typical example of this type of machinery factory of the period.
The museum was established on this basis. The museum exhibition uses detailed historical materials, rich cultural relics and photos to vividly summarize the rise and characteristics of iron industry workshops in the Santiaoshi area, and narrates the historical process of the rise and fall of the cast iron and machinery industry in the Santiaoshi area. It more typically reflects the difficult and slow development process of China's national industry under the oppression of the three mountains.
