Introducing Xiangshan Park East Palace Gate

The East Palace Gate is the main entrance to Xiangshan Park, facing east and flanked by bronze lions. The remains of the original East Palace Gate no longer exist, and what remains is a newly renovated gate. A plaque inscribed by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, "Jingyi Garden," hangs above the lintel.

At the east gate of Fragrant Hills Park, the imperial palace and Xiangshan Temple were first built. During the Qing Dynasty, two gates stood in front of the East Palace Gate: the southern gate inscribed with "Song Fei" and the northern gate inscribed with "Luo Wu." Entering the gates, there were two memorial archways, east and west. Beyond the archways, there was a stone bridge with a "Moon River" beneath it. Today, traces of the stone bridge and the "Moon River" can still be seen outside the East Palace Gate, but the archways and gates are gone. However, the newly renovated gates offer a glimpse into the splendor and glory of that time.
