Introducing Glazed Tower

The glazed pagoda is one of the best-preserved Qing Dynasty structures remaining from the Zongjing Jokhang Temple, built by the Qing court to welcome the Sixth Panchen Lama to Beijing. Located in Beijing's Fragrant Hills Park, the pagoda is located on a hill behind the temple. It has seven stories and eight sides, standing approximately 40 meters tall. At its base is a square stone platform, resting on an octagonal base. The base is surrounded by white jade railings, with wooden steps and columns surrounding it. Atop it, a spacious and expansive octagonal roof creates a towering presence.

Each floor is decorated with vibrant yellow, green, purple, and blue glazed components, including pillars, arches, brackets, lintels, eaves rafters, and tiles. Copper bells are attached to the octagonal eaves of each floor, creating a melodious, crisp sound in the breeze.
