Xishiku Church, commonly known as the North Church, once served as the cathedral of the Catholic Diocese of Beijing and is one of the largest and oldest churches in Beijing. Located at 33 Xishiku Street, Xicheng District, Beijing, Xishiku Church is a blend of Chinese and Western architecture. The main structure is a three-story Gothic building crowned by 11 spires. From a distance, it evokes memories of Notre Dame de Paris.

On either side are pavilions with yellow glazed tile roofs, each in the style of a Chinese square. Inside, a stone tablet inscribed by Emperor Qianlong himself is housed. Between the entrance arches are carved images of four saints, including Saint John and Saint Paul, a unique sight among Beijing churches. Inside, the golden vault, supported by 300 massive columns and 80 stained glass windows, creates a dazzling display of vibrant light in the sunlight. Both for its architectural artistry and visual appeal, the church is truly worth a visit.
