Miaofeng Mountain Scenic Area is located in Ximentougou District, Beijing, 55 kilometers from the city center. It is famous for its ancient temples, unique pines, strange rocks, and exotic flowers. It is known as the "No. 1 Fairy Mountain in North China."

It belongs to the remnant of Taihang Mountain. The main peak is 1,291 meters above sea level. The mountain is steep and has seasonal landscapes such as sunrise, sunset, rime, mountain market, and thousands of acres of roses. It also has the largest traditional pilgrimage temple fair in North China.

There are many ancient temples and scenic spots in the area, including the famous Liao Dynasty royal temple Yangshan Qiyin Temple, Dayun Temple, one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Wanping, the Dripping Rock named "Lingyan Exploration", the villa of Johnston, the English teacher of the last emperor Puyi, and other Pompeii ruins.
