Introducing Changyu City
Changyu City is located in western Changping District. It is surrounded by mountains on the east, west, and south, and borders Diaowogou to the south. Dating back five or six hundred years, it was a key pass near the ancient Great Wall. Relatively intact city walls, urn walls, and temples still remain.
Changyucheng, situated over 800 meters above sea level, boasts lush vegetation and fresh air, earning it the nickname "Little Tibet" outside Beijing. Walking along the plank path, listen to the mountain breeze rustle the grass and flowers, wildflowers droop in the breeze, and the clear, emerald green waters of the reservoir appear before your eyes. Looking back, you'll see distant mountains, layer upon layer, nestled among the clouds.
In Ming Dynasty villages, over 80% of the courtyards still use the traditional stone walls. The slogans on the walls, expressing unity, tension, seriousness, and lively spirit, can transport you back to the days of Chairman Mao. Stone walling is a craft that could now be listed as a United Nations emergency technical occupation.
