The Longtang Reservoir Cherry Blossom Garden is located in Longwangtang Street, Lushunkou District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province.

It was built in 1920 and mainly plants precious and rare species such as cedar, fir, locust, cypress, Japanese early cherry, as well as woody ornamental flowers and trees.

The Longtang Reservoir was built in 1920 by the Japanese ruling authorities out of their own needs, forcing Chinese workers to build it over a period of four years.

While the reservoir dam was being built, this 5,000-square-meter garden was built under the embankment.

The "Star Magnolia" in the northeast corner of the Longtang Reservoir Cherry Blossom Garden was transplanted from Osaka, Japan in 1926. Star Magnolia is rare in the country.

The upper half of its petals is white, while the lower half gradually turns pink, with a hint of red, which is extremely gorgeous.

Although the flowering period is short, when this tree, which is more than 6 meters tall and has a crown diameter of 6.3 meters from east to west and 7.1 meters from north to south, is in full bloom, there are always thousands of flowers in bloom, and there is not a single green leaf on the tree. It takes about a month from the first flower to the last flower.
