Dalian Pai Shi, also known as Tuoshan Pai Shi, is located in Tuoshan Township, Wafangdian District, Dalian, midway along the west coast of the Liaodong Peninsula. Tuoshan Pai Shi is a typical sea erosion landform, with continuous rock cliffs and steep rock layers. The clear, beautiful, and marvelous rock formations resemble walls, and the icy seascape creates a truly spectacular sight.

The neatly stacked layers of rock on Tuoshan Mountain resemble scrolls of Buddhist scriptures, earning it the nickname "Buddhist Scripture Rock" or "Thousand-Layered Wall." The ochre-colored cliffs are incredibly steep, seemingly carved from the seashore. Long-term erosion by the sea has shaped the unique sea cliffs. Parts of the cliff face have also been shaped by the erosion, including sea caves and a variety of pictographic rocks.
