Built during the Qi and Liang dynasties, Banshan Pavilion boasts a plaque inscribed with the words "Famous Mountain Under Heaven" by Emperor Huizong of Song, Zhao Ji. Standing at the entrance, overlooking the Tianzhu Peak, known as the "Pillar of the Southern Sky," soars into the heavens. Looking upward, one can faintly discern the Nantianmen Gate nestled deep in the white clouds. It's said that Banshan Pavilion was originally named "Jiang Gong Pavilion." The local people built a white marble pagoda tomb for Jiang Yiwu, with a "Jiang Gong Pavilion" next to his tomb. The pavilion's location, midway between Nanyue Peak and Zhurong Peak, each measuring ten miles, lent it its name.
