Changchun Peony Garden is a boutique park in Changchun City, Jilin Province. It was built in 1998 and is located at No. 3133 on the west side of Renmin Avenue.
It is in harmony with the Jige Group Oriental Theater (formerly the Jilin Province Cultural Activity Center) and is adjacent to the Changchun Gymnasium on the other side of the street.
After more than ten years of continuous development, the Peony Garden has become the only boutique park in Jilin Province and even the three northeastern provinces.
The garden is dotted with famous flowers and precious trees, including more than 10,000 peonies, including the extremely precious green peony, more than 2,000 peonies, as well as various flowers such as dahlias and barberry.
In the summer, the fish pond in the park is stocked with various ornamental fish for visitors to enjoy. There are pavilions and benches for rest, and there are also various strange rocks for you to admire.
Every year during the blooming season, the fragrance of flowers fills the air and the park is packed with visitors, with the daily visitor flow reaching more than 100,000 people.

The Changchun Peony Garden is renowned for its extensive collection of peony flowers, some of which have been cultivated for over 100 years. The garden is located in Changchun, Jilin Province. Visitors can reach it by taxi, public bus, or private vehicle. It is located within a short walking distance from the Changchun Peony Garden Bus Station.
The garden is open daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The best time to visit is during the peony bloom season in late spring (late April to early May), although the garden is beautiful year-round.
The entrance fee is 30 CNY per person. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance gate or online via local ticketing platforms.
Booking tickets in advance is not mandatory but is recommended during peak seasons like the peony bloom festival. Booking a day or two in advance should suffice.
A visit typically takes around 1 to 2 hours to explore the gardens, depending on how much time you spend photographing or enjoying the landscape. If you want to participate in activities, plan for a longer visit.
Guided tours are available in Mandarin. Audio guides in English may be available, but it's advisable to check in advance. The tours provide interesting insights into the garden's history and the different varieties of peonies.
Currently, night visits are not available. However, during the peony bloom season, special events such as flower festivals and themed tours may be held. Check for updates on special events before visiting.
The garden can get crowded during the peony bloom season, especially on weekends and holidays. The least crowded times are weekdays in the early morning or late afternoon.
There are basic facilities available, including public toilets, water fountains, and rest areas. There are also a few small shops selling peony-related souvenirs and snacks.
The garden is mostly accessible to elderly, children, and disabled visitors, with paved walkways and ramps for easy access to most areas. However, some of the more natural garden paths might be challenging for wheelchair users.
Mobile payments such as WeChat Pay and Alipay are accepted, and credit cards are also commonly accepted. However, it’s always a good idea to carry some cash, especially for small purchases in local shops.
There are a few local restaurants and cafes nearby offering Chinese dishes and light snacks. For more dining options, you may need to travel into central Changchun.
