Introducing Xituanshan Site

The Xituanshan site is located on Xituanshan Mountain in Jixing Village, Huanxi Township, Chuanying District, Jilin City, Jilin Province. It is a Bronze Age site.   

The site consists of two parts: living quarters and cemeteries, covering an area of ​​more than 40,000 square meters.

The southwestern slope of the mountain is dotted with stone and pottery relics and is a burial area; the adjacent west hill is a residential area.

A total of 19 sarcophagus tombs were excavated at the site, and 138 stone and pottery artifacts were found.

The structure and shape of the Xituanshan sarcophagus tomb are as follows: the stone used for the sarcophagus is mostly granite, and the masonry methods include slab stone standing and block stone stacking.

The tombs are arranged in a direction that follows the terrain, with the vast majority of them facing the top of the mountain and the feet towards the foot of the mountain. The archaeological culture represented by the remains of the Xituanshan tomb culture is named "Xituanshan Culture."
