The Xiaoxi Ecological Tourism Area boasts pristine natural and cultural scenery. Located in Yongshun County in western Hunan Province, at the western end of the Wuling Mountains, the reserve boasts over 1,500 plant species, including 419 woody plants and 208 vertebrate species.
The scenic area is an ecotourism destination characterized by pristine secondary forests, canyons, and peak forests. The vast, lush forests boast a forest coverage rate of 92.5%, creating a pleasant environment with high concentrations of negative oxygen ions and fresh air. Deep ravines nestle amidst the forest, cascading waterfalls and springs, towering peaks, and the sounds of birdsong and monkeys. Occasionally, a Tujia wooden building can be seen, accompanied by the crowing of chickens and barking of dogs, highlighting the simple customs of the local people. The Xiaoxi Ecotourism Area boasts pristine natural and cultural scenery, making it an ideal destination for leisure, vacation, and adventure travel.

Then, visit the traditional Miao and Tujia villages to learn about local culture. End your visit with a more challenging hike to a viewpoint that offers stunning views of the surrounding landscapes.
Night visits and light shows are not typically available at Little Creek Nature Reserve. However, special cultural tours to the nearby Miao villages may be arranged in the evening, where you can enjoy traditional performances and local festivities.
Weekends and public holidays tend to be crowded, especially in peak tourist seasons. To avoid crowds, visit on weekdays, particularly in the off-season (late autumn and early spring). Early mornings or late afternoons are also quieter times to visit.
