Datong Township is Kashgar's most renowned outdoor adventure destination. Nestled in a river valley deep in the Pamirs, it bears a Han-speaking name, but over 90% of its residents are Tajiks. Deep canyons and seclusion abound, and the people are remarkably simple. The village boasts well-maintained houses, the sounds of chickens and dogs echoing around, creating a sense of paradise.
On the way to Datong Township, you will pass through Tajik villages such as Kuksiruk Township and Tal Township. Each of them is full of apricot blossoms, like a feast of colors, and the cold snow-capped mountains and desolate canyons surround those apricot blossom forests. The strong visual contrast is breathtakingly beautiful.
Plateau mountain climate;
The best time to visit is in March and April, when the apricot blossoms are in full bloom.
