Yesanxia, a National 4A-level tourist attraction located in Jianshi County, Enshi, encompasses several scenic areas, including the Yesanxia Qingjiang Grand Canyon, Jingyang Gallery, Huangheqiao Peak Forest Canyon, Xiaoxihu International Resort, and the Jianshi Homo erectus Site. Boasting a pleasant climate, pristine ecology, and a rich sense of wilderness, the area boasts breathtaking mountains and beautiful waters, preserving pristine natural beauty and unique folk customs. The area boasts a vibrant tapestry of colorful gorges, peculiar peaks, springs, waterfalls, flowering trees, lush vines, ancient passes, old streets, and a rich tapestry of Tujia culture. Mountains rise above the water, water surrounds the mountains, and the landscape complements each other, creating a grand spectacle of both natural and cultural landscapes.
The low mountains of Yesanxia boast a mild climate with four distinct seasons, abundant rain, light winds, and a long frost-free period. The high mountains offer mild summers, cold winters, late springs, early autumns, and humid, rainy weather. The frost-free period is short, with cool, humid weather. Especially above 1,600 meters above sea level, winters are long and summerless, with spring and autumn blending into one, often foggy and cold. The disparity in temperature between high and low altitudes is so pronounced that every spring, in some areas, you can witness the natural spectacle of "peach blossoms at the foot of the mountain and snow on the top."
Huangheqiao Peak Forest Scenic Area
The scenic area is divided into three sections. The first section, from the opening to the top of the Yellow Crane, tells the story of Linjun's growth. The second section, from the Yellow Crane Valley to the blessed land, tells the story of Linjun's battles. The third section, from the Lion Gate to the Reincarnation Corridor, tells the story of Linjun's relics.
There are 3,598 steps in total on the Yellow Crane Bridge, 1,599 from the tourist reception center to the top of the Yellow Crane, and 1,999 from the top of the Yellow Crane to Bajian Mountain. It was designed with ingenuity by the builder and developer of the scenic area. This is a secret that only they know.
