Located in Longgang Village, Huliao Town, Dapu County, Tai'an Tower is commonly known as the Stone Tower because of its stone exterior. It boasts a unique architectural style, grand scale, ingenious design, rational layout, comprehensive functionality, and rich cultural heritage.
From the outside, it's hard to believe this is a residential building. Its extremely closed appearance makes it look like an impenetrable castle. The tall Tai'an Building gives people the first impression of being as solid, simple and rugged as a rock.
Walking into Tai'an Building, the horizontal plaque "Ancestors' Merits and Virtues" centered on the ancestral hall shows the idea of respecting ancestors and the Hakka people's attachment to tradition, and showcases the Hakka people's unique way of life of living in harmony from generation to generation. This building where large families live together embodies the Hakka people's ethnic consciousness, and the centripetal layout of Tai'an Building strengthens the cohesion within the family.
Common drawbacks of square buildings include dim lighting, poor ventilation, and the proximity of wooden staircases, which creates a high level of noise. Tai'an Building's architectural design fully addresses these shortcomings. Unlike typical square buildings, it features a dedicated outer circular security corridor on the third floor, and spacious, bright staircases at the four corners. Climbing to the third floor's outer circular corridor and gazing out the windows, one can take in the panoramic view of the building's front.
