The Manzhouli National Gate, a cream-colored building located on the Chinese side of the Sino-Russian border in western Manzhouli, stands 30 meters tall and 40 meters wide. Completed in 1989, it stands solemn and majestic. Emblazoned above the cream-colored gate are the seven bright red characters "People's Republic of China," and the national emblem hangs above, gleaming golden. An international railway passes beneath. The National Gate Scenic Area, located on the Manzhouli-Russia border, is now a fifth-generation national gate.
