Introducing Lonely Mountain

Gushan is located in Zhongshan Park in Hangzhou, between the Inner Lake and the Outer Lake of West Lake. On the southern slope are Wenlan Pavilion, West Lake World Scene, Zhejiang Museum and Zhongshan Park. On the western part of the mountain top is Xiling Seal Society, on the western slope is Qiu Jin's tomb, and on the northeast slope is Fanghe Pavilion.

It is the lowest and smallest mountain among the West Lake mountains, with an altitude of only 38 meters. It is not only a scenic spot but also a gathering place for cultural relics. It is known as "The beauty of Qiantang lies in West Lake, and the wonder of West Lake lies in Gushan".

The Crane Releasing Pavilion was built in commemoration of the reclusive Song Dynasty poet Lin Bu, known for his wife and son, a plum blossom. Plum blossoms are planted outside the pavilion, making it a popular spot for viewing plum blossoms on the lake. The scene evokes Lin Bu's timeless masterpiece: "Sparse shadows slant across the shallow water, a subtle fragrance drifts in the moonlit evening."
