Hongyuantai Dyeing Workshop, founded during the Song and Yuan dynasties, was originally located in Nanzha. It relocated here during the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty. It served as a production base for blue printed cloth and a distribution center for its products. At Hongyuantai Dyeing Workshop, you can see a full demonstration of the traditional dyeing process and take home some finished blue printed cloth from the shop in front.
China's blue printed cloth is world-famous, and Wuzhen is one of its origins. Furthermore, it was a filming location for the TV series "A Time to Live and a Time to Die," and fans of the series may recall scenes from the show.
