Wushan Square, located at No. 1 Yan'an Road in Shangcheng District, Hangzhou, connects to Wulin Square in the city center along Yan'an Road from north to south. It is one of the largest squares in Hangzhou's main urban area and the closest city square to West Lake. Tourist attractions such as Hefang Street, the Hangzhou Museum, and the Southern Song Imperial Street are also located near Wushan Square. "Wushan Tianfeng," one of the new Ten Scenic Spots of West Lake, is also located here.

During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, this area was the westernmost border of the Zeng Wu Kingdom, hence the name Wushan. Locals also call it Chenghuang Mountain because there is a City God Temple on the top of the mountain.
