Haimen City is located on the coast of the Yellow Sea, at the intersection of the Yangtze River and the coastal open belt. It faces the Yellow Sea to the east and the Yangtze River to the south. It is the "T"-shaped junction of China's golden waterway and golden coast, and is known as the "Gateway to the River and the Sea".
The southern riverside scenic belt of Haimen has a river and sea style park, riverside fishing villages, Yangtze Country Club and other attractions. The eastern South Yellow Sea Style Park has Dongzao Fishing Port and ten thousand acres of golden mudflats.
There is also Lijia Mountain in the territory, which is famous throughout China for its abundant oysters; Faguang Temple, an ancient Ming Dynasty temple, has always been very popular; and the Zhang Jian Memorial Hall, a Jiangnan garden-style building, has ancient and solemn buildings, winding paths and deep secluded paths, with the poetic beauty of small bridges and flowing water.
Haimen belongs to the northern subtropical monsoon climate zone, with distinct four seasons, abundant rainfall and sufficient sunshine.
Lijiashan Ecological Scenic Area
Located on the shores of the South Yellow Sea, the Lijiashan Marine Ecotourism Area is one of Nantong City's ten major scenic spots. It is a natural amphibious island, forming a reef at high tide and an island at low tide, covering an area of approximately 35,000 square kilometers. Formed by the accumulation of living oysters, the island reefs maintain their anchorage and reef-building processes over thousands, even tens of thousands, of years.
