Introducing Huangzangyu
Huangzangyu, formerly known as Huangsangyu, is a National Forest Park located 30 kilometers southeast of Xiaoxian County. It is a Chinese historical and cultural heritage site, home to China's largest ancient tree community, a National AAAA-level tourist attraction, and a National Forest Park. Before becoming emperor, Emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty, Liu Bang, hid here to avoid capture by Qin troops, hence the name Huangzangyu. Known as a "natural oxygen bar," the area boasts Pingdingshan, its highest peak, at 389 meters. It is the hometown of Xu Shuzheng, the general who recaptured Outer Mongolia, and boasts the best-preserved deciduous broad-leaved forest belt on Earth at its latitude. It is a rare warm temperate deciduous broad-leaved forest zone north of the Yangtze River, a zone where the subtropical and warm temperate zones meet, making it the best-preserved virgin forest in northern Anhui.
