Pei County, the hometown of Liu Bang, boasts a long history and rich culture. Established during the Qin Dynasty, it is the hometown of Emperor Gaozu of Han, Liu Bang. Known as the birthplace of Han culture, it is renowned as "the land where dragons soared through the ages and the hometown of a generation of emperors." It is also a nationally renowned hometown for martial arts, calligraphy and painting, and the guzheng (Chinese zither).
Pei County is a lakeside city with a crisscrossing network of waterways and a beautiful ecology.
