Tanziling Scenic Area is the highest point of the Three Gorges construction site and the best place to enjoy the panoramic view of the Three Gorges Project. It is named because its shape resembles an upside-down jar.
The scenic area, covering approximately 100,000 square meters, includes an observation deck, relief sculptures, a large steel book, a Yi Nian Jiang Stone model room, and green belts. It comprehensively showcases the enduring Three Gorges culture and expresses the distinctive themes of human-water integration, transforming water into beneficial uses, and man's ability to conquer nature. Climbing to the top observation deck at Tanziling offers panoramic views of the Three Gorges Dam construction area, the stunning scenery of Huangniu Rock in Xiling Gorge, and the distant vista of Zigui County.

Wannian River Bottom Stone
The granite riverbed stone, often called the "Ten Thousand Years Riverbed Stone," weighs over 20 tons. Scientists have determined it's 800 million years old. It offers insights into the Yangtze River's ancient past, allowing visitors to marvel at the vicissitudes of life and the transformations of the world while standing before it.
Interceptor
The cutoff stone weighs 28 tons and was placed here as a symbolic mark, a symbol of water control. A cutoff stone of this size was used when the Chengming Canal was cut off in 1981. Its distinctive shape—a triangular tetrahedron—has become a symbol of modern water conservancy projects.
