Luoji Mountain is located 30 kilometers south of Xichang, the capital of Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province . It spans Xichang City, Puge County, and Dechang County. Its name comes from its "sister" relationship with Mount Emei: "Mount Emei resembles a woman's moth-like brow, while Luoji Mountain resembles the snail-shaped bun on a young girl's head."
Luoji Mountain, with its thousands of peaks stacked in emerald green and surrounded by countless rivers, boasts a majestic landscape and numerous scenic beauty, creating a uniquely endowed natural scenic area. From afar, misty forests and lush greenery shimmer, the haze shimmers in vibrant colors, the vast expanse of sky and earth blending into a vast expanse, creating a sense of blossoming in the morning and evening. Closer inspection reveals a vibrant sea of azaleas, a riot of red, a riot of white and yellow, each a dazzling display of brilliance.
Luoji Mountain boasts treacherous and deep caves, verdant red rocks, and steep peaks. It boasts a dazzling, multicolored lake, known as the " Five-Colored Lake," and a magnificent, cascading hot spring waterfall. Ancient texts claim Luoji Mountain boasts 72 peaks, 36 "Heavenly Lakes," 18 scenic spots, 25 square meters of land, and 12 Buddhist caves, for a total of 108 scenic spots.
According to satellite remote sensing data from 1989 , the number of landscapes and scenic spots is far more than this, and there are 58 peaks with a ridge height of more than 4,000 meters winding around in the sea of mountain fog, appearing and disappearing, like a blue dragon flying in the sky. The concentration of the peaks, the grand scale, the strange shape and the proximity to the city are rare.
Xichang has sunny weather often and is known as the "Little Spring City". It is suitable for travel all year round, but spring, summer and autumn are the best seasons.
