When the Yangtze River flows through the eastern edge of the Sichuan Basin, it breaks through the mountains and rushes through to form a magnificent and unparalleled canyon, namely the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River.
The Three Gorges stretch from Baidicheng in Fengjie County, Chongqing in the west to Nanjin Pass in Yichang City, Hubei Province in the east, comprising Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge, and Xiling Gorge. This 400-li treacherous passage offers endless breathtaking scenery, creating the most magnificent landscape gallery on the Yangtze River.
The Three Gorges of the Yangtze River are also one of the birthplaces of ancient Chinese culture. The deep gorges were once battlefields during the Three Kingdoms period, where countless heroes fought bravely. The area is home to numerous historical sites, including Baidicheng, Huangling, and Lady Sun Temple at Nanjin Pass. These, combined with the stunning natural scenery, have earned them international acclaim.
In spring and autumn , when the climate is mild and the sun is bright, both the green trees and the autumn leaves are very beautiful.
