Sansuan Island is located approximately 3.5 kilometers southeast of Shitang Town and can be reached by private boat from Shitang in about 30 minutes. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, the island was covered in garlic, and nearby fishermen often came to dig for food, hence the name.

Sansuan Island is also a naturally carved island. It consists of Zhuangyuan Island, Bailongtou, Xieke Reef, Caoxie Reef, Hongyu, Xiyuepeng Reef and other islands. Its unique and charming island scenery with sunshine, beaches, waves and reefs attracts many tourists.
