Sansuan Island is located approximately 3.5 kilometers southeast of Shitang Town and can be reached by private boat from Shitang in about 30 minutes. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, the island was covered in garlic, and nearby fishermen often came to dig for food, hence the name.
