The geographical coordinates of Black Valley are 106°58'26" east longitude and 28°51'46" north latitude. It is located in the foothills of the Dalou Mountains, where the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau transitions to the Sichuan Basin. It is located in Heishan Town, Wansheng Economic and Technological Development Zone, Chongqing City, adjacent to Nanchuan Jinfo Mountain and Guizhou Tongzi Baiqing Nature Reserve. The mountainous areas of Black Valley are often covered in fog, with little sunshine and abundant rainfall. The plains experience a subtropical humid monsoon climate, with average temperatures of approximately 6.9°C in January and 26.1°C in July. Due to the Black Valley's high altitude and steep slopes, the climate zones are distinctly distributed vertically.
The climate is warm temperate at an altitude of 1500-2100 meters, and mid-temperate at an altitude of 2100-2500 meters.

Areas above 2,000 meters above sea level are covered with ice and snow for about half a year, from October to April of the following year.

Located in Qijiang District, Chongqing, Black Valley can be accessed by taxi or private car from the city center. Public transport options like buses are available, though they may require transfers.
Black Valley is typically open from 8 AM to 5 PM. The best times to visit are during the spring and autumn months when the weather is mild and the valley is at its most beautiful.
