Introducing Fajing Temple

Fajing Temple is located along Tianzhu Road in Lingyin, Xihu District, flanked by Feilai Peak to the west and Yuegui Peak to the east. It was renamed Fajing Temple during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty. The Medicine Buddha Altar within the Medicine Buddha Hall, designed and constructed according to the rituals of the Medicine Buddha Sutra, boasts a unique form, a truly traditional Buddhist design and the only one of its kind in China.

Fajing Temple is also one of the Three Tianzhu Temples, also known as Xia Tianzhu Temple. It is the only female temple in Hangzhou and the earliest temple built among the Three Tianzhu Temples. Together with Faxi Temple and Fajing Temple, it is one of the Three Tianzhu Temples.
