Introducing Xisha Wetland

Located at the western end of Chongming Island, the Xisha Wetland is the only tidal flat in Shanghai with natural tides. It boasts recurring tides (a daily tide schedule is available at the entrance) and an ecosystem that interacts closely with nature.

The geological relics and landscapes of the Xisha Wetland primarily include estuarine tidal flat geomorphology and wetland geomorphology, as well as wetland vegetation, birds, and benthic animals. The park preserves 17 typical geomorphic relics of two main categories, showcasing the vicissitudes of the geological landscape of the world's largest estuarine alluvial island and the ecological civilization of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.

The sunset at the Xisha Wetland is a unique sight in Chongming. The reeds, bays and the sunset glow in the sky complement each other, making the surroundings quiet and peaceful, and the scenery is magnificent.
