Introducing Guangmingding

Guangmingding, one of Huangshan's main peaks, is located in the central part of the mountain. At 1,860 meters above sea level, it is the second highest peak in Huangshan and one of the three main peaks, along with Tiandu Peak and Lianhua Peak. The summit is flat and spacious, offering panoramic views of the East China Sea, the peaks of the West China Sea, and the Liandan, Tiandu, Lianhua, Yuping, and Aoyu peaks.

During the Ming Dynasty, the monk Pumen founded the Great Compassion Monastery on the summit, and the Huangshan Meteorological Station now stands on its ruins. Because of its high, open, and long-lasting sunlight, it's named Bright Summit. Its flat terrain makes it one of the best spots in Huangshan for viewing the sunrise and the sea of ​​clouds. Under favorable weather conditions, the main star in the constellation Eridanus, Apollo, can be seen.
