Xialuoduoji Snow Mountain is one of the three sacred mountains in the Yading Scenic Area. It means "Vajrapani Bodhisattva" and stands at an altitude of 5,958 meters. In Buddhism, it represents the god who eliminates violence and protects the good. He is brave and resolute, with a bright and vigorous look, a colorful tiger skin around his crotch, and a sinister python around his waist.
Xialuoduoji Snow Mountain is shaped like a triangular pyramid, the closest to a pyramid of the three peaks. Sharp ridges wind along its flanks, the sides facing away from the light appearing dark, their sharp lines outlined against the blue sky. In summer, the steeper parts of the triangular face of the peak are less snowy, but in the depression on the south side, two massive hanging glaciers dominate, their tongues dangling precariously from the steep cliffs.
