Rose Peak, located approximately 25 kilometers due north of Arxan City, is also known locally as Hongshi Lazi. Composed of granite syenite or red sandstone, its overall reddish-brown color gives it the name Hongshi Lazi. Long-term crustal uplift, intense river erosion, and frost-induced weathering have shaped this landscape, characterized by jagged peaks and ridges and crisscrossing valleys. Over a dozen steep peaks, each with its own distinct shape, create a majestic and spectacular landscape.
The Queyitan Grassland north of the Rose Peak in Arxan is the cradle of Genghis Khan's Mobei cavalry and the source of strength for Genghis Khan and his descendants to march south, west and east.
Standing atop Rose Peak, you can gaze down upon the surrounding landscape. The rolling hills bear a vibrant tapestry of life. The wheat fields, rolling like waves, are as vast as the ocean. The golden rapeseed flowers dazzle the eye. The boundless, lush forests make you feel the endless meaning of life. The Halaha River winds around the peak like a silver chain. The ancient road beneath the peak, steeped in history, evokes a nostalgic feeling.
