Wuling Mountain is a national nature reserve with a forest coverage rate of 93%. Its main peak, at 2,118 meters above sea level, is one of the highest peaks in the Yanshan Mountains. The complexity of its topography and landforms determines its diverse climate, resulting in "peach blossoms drifting below the mountain, snowflakes flying above," "rainy days below, bright sunshine above," and "three different weathers every three miles, three seasons within one mountain." It is a "cool summer island" amidst the "hot sea" of North China.
It is known as a "natural botanical garden" and a "green treasure house".
