Introducing Bailu Shangshuyuan

Bailu Shang Academy is located in the deep mountains of Bailu Town, Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province. The academy was built in 1895. It is a French-style Catholic church building. It was the theological and philosophical college for training Catholic missionaries in the Chengdu Diocese at that time.

The 2008 Wenchuan earthquake severely damaged the academy, with much of it collapsing. Later, the government began rebuilding the academy on the ruins, restoring it to its original appearance. The academy is surrounded by tall, lush cypress trees and vast cornfields, while the courtyard is covered in lush weeds.

The entire Annunciation Monastery is a typical quadrangle courtyard with a grand scale, a towering white French chapel, carved railings, arched window frames, and curved steps. Visitors are all amazed when they are in it, as if they are in a foreign country.
