Jinjiang Theatre, Chengdu's Sichuan Opera Art Center, is located at 54 Huaxingzheng Street, Jinjiang District. Formerly known as the Yuelai Tea Garden, it was founded in 1908 (the 34th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu), boasting nearly 100 years of history. It is the first large-scale comprehensive cultural and entertainment venue in China named after Sichuan Opera and primarily dedicated to theatrical performances. It comprises the Jinjiang Theatre, Yuelai Tea Garden, and the Sichuan Opera Art Museum.
Built on the site of Yuelai Tea Garden, the birthplace of Sichuan Opera, the Jinjiang Theater is an arts center that combines the classical style of western Sichuan with modern interiors. Named after Sichuan Opera, it is widely recognized as a "home of Sichuan Opera." From its inception, the renowned Sichuan Opera troupe, the Sanqinghui, performed here. Renowned artists such as Yang Sulan, Kang Zilin, Xiao Kaicheng, and Tang Guangti have presented numerous remarkable productions here.
