Yuecheng Lake is located between Zhangren Peak and Qinglonggang in Qingcheng Mountain. Guicheng Mountain, also known as Yuecheng Mountain, lies below Zhangren Peak, giving the lake its name. A clear stream, originally originating from Gaotai Mountain, flows into the open mountain valley here. In 1985, a new dam, over 20 meters wide and 10 meters high, was built, forming a small mountain lake with a surface area of approximately 24,000 square meters.
Legend has it that this was the retreat of Guigu, the Minshan Immortal, the teacher of Emperor Huangdi and the leader of the Eight Immortals of Shu. It is also said that during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, the immortal Liu Haichan also cultivated here. Yuecheng Lake is surrounded by verdant mountains, creating a picturesque scene. The emerald green waters are like a mirror, reflecting the surrounding valleys. The morning sun shines, the evening shades are cast, and the clouds and mist cover the mountains and the waters, creating a captivating scene.
There is a long corridor on the embankment, where people can take a rest and enjoy the view; there are cruise ships in the lake for tourists to enjoy a leisurely cruise.
