Located at No. 29 Ping'anqiao Street, Qingyang District, Chengdu, Ping'anqiao Catholic Church is the largest Catholic church in Chengdu and the seat of the Catholic Diocese of Chengdu. Construction began in 1897 by French Bishop Luo Shuya, who recruited craftsmen from Chengdu's suburban counties of Chongzhou, Dayi, and Qionglai, and the church took seven years to complete.

Ping'anqiao Catholic Church comprises large and small chapels, the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception, and the Bishop's Palace. The church is shaped like a cross, the Bishop's Palace like a bundle, and the entire complex forms a "sting" shape, creating a unique, simple, and elegant atmosphere. The Chapel of the Immaculate Conception can accommodate over a thousand people, while the small chapel is reserved for bishops and priests to offer sacrifices.

The beams, columns, doors, windows, and floors of the entire building are all made of precious nanmu wood harvested from the Qionglai Mountains. Over the past century, Ping'anqiao Catholic Church has survived wars, wind and rain, and has retained its original appearance.
