Introducing Aquarius

Baopingkou refers to an estuary that functions as a "regulating gate," automatically controlling the flow of water into the Neijiang River. This artificial opening, carved into the long ridge of Yulei Mountain extending into the Minjiang River, is named "Baopingkou" for its bottle-like shape and unique function. It is the first water conservancy project entering the Dujiangyan scenic area, and is used to strictly control the flow of water from the Neijiang River into the Chengdu Plain.

The best vantage point for overlooking Baopingkou is from the top of Fulong Temple, where you can admire the magnificent sight of the surging river flowing through it. Baopingkou is the water inlet to Neijiang River and a key water conservancy facility that enables Neijiang to control floods and droughts. Due to its magnificent natural scenery, Baopingkou is known as "the gorge locked by the piles" and is one of the historically renowned "Ten Scenic Spots of Guanyang."

The width and bottom height of Baopingkou are strictly controlled. The ancients carved dozens of divisions on the rock wall and named it "Shui Ze", which is the earliest water level gauge in my country.
