Located on the banks of Chengdu's Fu River, Living Water Park is the world's first comprehensive urban environmental education park. Water from the Fu River flows through a water purification system, including anaerobic tanks, flowing water sculptures, aerobic tanks, plant ponds, plant beds, and fish ponds. This demonstrates the life cycle of water and nature, from "turbid" to "clear," and from "dead" to "alive."
This is an internationally recognized success story in environmental governance. The park's massive water treatment project has significantly improved the water quality of the Funan River, allowing residents to witness the natural transformation of polluted water into clean water and to take pride in it. Every day, 200 cubic meters of water are pumped from the river to remove bacteria and heavy metals before being returned to the river.
The park's fish-like shape symbolizes vitality and health, a key feature of the design. Visitors often enter through the fish's mouth and walk toward its tail. Walking along the riverbank offers panoramic views of the park.
The park's central garden sculpture fountain, natural ecological river embankment, "Huanglong Five-Colored Pool" and other natural scenery are cleverly integrated with dozens of aquatic plants and ornamental fish, integrating education, appreciation and games, allowing people to fully experience the beauty and magic of nature in the process of approaching and integrating into nature.
