According to historical records, in the 41st year of Emperor Qianlong's reign, officials from Yongning Prefecture in Sichuan and Zunyi and Renhuai Prefectures in Guizhou Province jointly surveyed and demarcated the area, declaring it an official mountain and permanently forbidding it. Over 200 years later, the area boasts towering ancient trees and a tranquil environment, earning it the name "Huangjing Old Forest."

There are six scenic spots in Huangjing Laolin Scenic Area, including Bajiedong Waterfall Group, Huanyan, Puzhao Mountain, Honglong Lake, Guanshan, and Sunzi Mountain.
