Pengzu Mountain, formerly known as Fairy Mountain, is 610 meters above sea level and is located in the northeast of Pengshan County, the "Longevity Town". It is the place where the 800-year-old centenarian Peng Zu and his daughter cultivated themselves in Chinese legend. It is also one of the birthplaces of the world's longevity culture and tea culture.
On the mountain there is the tomb of Peng Zu, the founder of Chinese Qigong and the god of longevity, as well as historical sites such as the Peng Zu Temple and the Peng Zu Alchemy Cave; the Health Preservation Hall, the Qi Gathering Field, and the Pheasant Soup Hall that display the three secrets of Peng Zu's longevity; the ingeniously shaped Pengshan Twin Buddhas, one sitting and one standing, the standing Buddha Shakyamuni is 28 meters tall, and the sitting Buddha Duobao Tathagata is 24 meters tall; the popular religious and cultural site Huiguang Temple, the steep and unique Jiutian Lansheng, and more than 20 other attractions.
The scenic area also features Jiangkou Ancient Town, the earliest "Wuyang Teahouse", Li Bai's reading platform, the origin of the story of "grinding an iron rod into a needle", a collection of exquisite cultural relics unearthed from 5,003 Eastern Han Dynasty cliff tombs in Pengshan, the Han Cliff Tomb Museum with high research value, as well as scenic spots such as the General Lake and Fairy Lake with their beautiful scenery of lakes and mountains.
