Fulong Temple is located at the northern end of Lidui in the Dujiangyan Scenic Area in Dujiangyan City, Sichuan Province. Legend has it that Li Bing and his son subdued the evil dragon of the Minjiang River when they were controlling floods, and locked it in the Fulongtan below Lidui. Later generations built a temple to worship it; it was renamed Fulong Temple in the early Northern Song Dynasty, and Taoist priests were the first to be in charge of incense.

Fulong Temple, built atop Lidui, is sheer on three sides, connected to the expansive dam on one side by 42 stone steps, each 31.5 feet wide. This gives the temple a particularly majestic and imposing appearance. The three-story temple complex rises majestically, following the mountain's slope. The front hall displays a 2.9-meter-tall, 4.5-ton stone statue of Li Bing, excavated from the riverbed during the construction of the Outer River Control Gate in 1974. Created over 1,800 years ago during the early years of Emperor Ling of the Eastern Han Dynasty, it is the oldest surviving stone sculpture in the round in my country and is therefore extremely valuable. The rear hall houses an electric model of the Dujiangyan Irrigation Area.
