The Tuojiang River, a tributary of the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, is located in central Sichuan Province, China. It originates at Daheiwan, Duanyantou, Mianzhu City, at the southern foot of Jiuding Mountain in northwestern Sichuan. It flows south to Zhaozhen, Jintang County, where it joins four upstream tributaries of the Tuojiang River: the Pihe River, Qingbai River, Jian River, and Shiting River, before merging into the Yangtze River.

The Tuojiang River also has its own "Three Gorges," but unlike the Yangtze River, they are scattered throughout the upper, middle, and lower reaches. Jintang Gorge, the upper reaches, is 13 kilometers long and shaped like a large "S" in plan, with Paotai Mountain on the left and Yunding Mountain on the right. The mountains and banks on both sides are towering, and the river is only 200 meters wide at its widest.
