Introducing Flower Path

The Flower Path in Du Fu's Thatched Cottage is a small path lined with flowers and trees in front of Du Fu's thatched cottage. He once wrote in a poem: "The flower path has never been swept for guests, and the door is now opened for you."

Today, the Flower Path is a narrow red-walled path connecting the Du Fu Thatched Cottage Memorial Complex to the former Thatched Cottage Temple. At its end is the "Thatched Cottage Screen Wall," where Zhou Shanpei, then the late Qing Dynasty governor of Sichuan's Industrial Promotion Department, inlaid the characters "Caotang" with broken blue and white porcelain. Although damaged and restored several times, Chairman Mao gazed at them for a long time during his 1958 visit to the Thatched Cottage. As a landmark of the Thatched Cottage, it's a popular spot for visitors to take photos.
