The Baihe Gorge stretches from the Baihebao Reservoir in Jiuxian County, northeast of Yanqing District, through Huairou County, and on to the Miyun Reservoir. The upper half of the gorge stretches from the Baihebao Reservoir to the Tanghekou in Huairou County. Baihebao Reservoir is the first scenic spot, followed by Xiaoshuikou, a key pass on the Ming Dynasty Great Wall.

This is a natural canyon with remarkably well-preserved pristine landscape. Along with the Guanting Gorge of the Yongding River and the Juma River Gorge, it's known as one of the "Three Great Canyons of Kyoto." Baihe Gorge, for its magnificent scenery, is even more famously known as the "Hundred-Mile Gallery." The canyon's steep roads and relatively few villages make it a perfect spot for adventurous nature exploration.

In addition, there is a magnificent scenery called "Yuntai Lansheng" in the valley, which is similar to the "Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon" and is worth a visit.
