Jiafan Ancient City, located within the Ganhaizi Scenic Area, is 27 kilometers from the entrance of Jiuzhaigou. The ancient city is the remains of a garrison left behind by Songtsen Gampo's army during their invasion of the Tang Dynasty. After extensive renovation and restoration, it now comprises three main parts: the Tibetan village complex, the Jiuzhaigou Paradise Grand Theater, and the museum complex.

This is a completely pristine Tibetan and Qiang architectural complex. Embraced by two mountains and surrounded by a body of water, the ancient city boasts over 400 acres of land, dotted with three-star official residences, museums, performance halls, guesthouses, and commercial establishments. Furthermore, the ancient city offers a variety of experiential tourism activities, including horse racing and rafting.
