Introducing Sun Yat-sen Statue

The bronze statue of Sun Yat-sen, located at the southern end of the northern section of Chunxi Road in Chengdu, was built in 1927 as a standing statue. In September 1945, it was redesigned as a seated statue by renowned sculptor Professor Liu Kaiqu. The statue stands 1.8 meters tall on a red sandstone base.

For a long time, this statue was in an inconspicuous location. Before Chunxi Road was thoroughly renovated, its current location was a small flower market, and the statue was hidden in the flower market. Now a Zhongshan Square has been built specifically for the statue of Sun Yat-sen, and a pedestal has also been built, allowing the statue of Sun Yat-sen to be truly displayed and become a landmark of Chunxi Road.
