
Zhang Zuoxiang, a former member of the Nationalist Government's Military Commission's Peking Branch and the Central Political Conference, served as Commander-in-Chief of the Second North China Army and the Sixth Corps. His former residence, located at 4 Chongqing Road in Heping District, Tianjin, is now used by the Tianjin Real Estate Development Company. It is a two-story brick-and-wood structure with an attic and a semi-basement.
The building's facade is white, with varied concave and convex surfaces inlaid with Western-style carvings, red tile tiles, and a sloping roof. Bluestone steps lead to the main hall on either side of the building. The ground floor consists of six rooms, with a large living room on the south side, featuring intricately carved wainscoting. A large terrace precedes the hall, while the remaining rooms serve as study and reception areas. The second floor contains seven rooms, housing bedrooms and bathrooms. The attic serves as storage, and the basement serves as a boiler room and servants' quarters.

It is recommended to visit for about half an hour. Visitors can only visit from the outside. It is currently used by Tianjin Real Estate Development Company.

It is located in the Nankai District of Tianjin. You can take a taxi or use the metro, getting off at Nankai Station, and then walk to the residence.
The residence is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The best times to visit are in the morning or late afternoon to avoid crowds.
The entrance fee is typically around 20 RMB. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance or online through local tourism websites.
It is not mandatory to book tickets in advance, but it’s recommended to do so during peak tourist seasons or public holidays to avoid long wait times.
About 1 to 2 hours is enough to fully explore the residence, including the exhibits and the surrounding gardens.
