Liyu Lake, located at the foot of Liyu Mountain on the west side of Shoufeng Township, is the largest lake in Hualien County. It is said that it got its name because the mountains beside the lake look like a carp from a distance. The lake is also rich in carp, making it a veritable " Carp Lake " .

June to August is the firefly season, and you can see many fireflies at night.
