
Kalaw, located at an altitude of over 1,300 meters in Shan State in eastern Myanmar, is administratively part of Taunggyi, the capital of Shan State. Kalaw is a popular hiking town for foreign tourists, with walking trails throughout the area, rich in ethnic minorities and hill tribes, including the famous Inle Lake.
November to February is the cool season with an average temperature of 27 degrees Celsius. It is the time with the lowest temperature and the least rainfall in Myanmar. It is hot and dry with sufficient sunshine, making it the best time to travel in the year.
